How do you deal with an inconsistent defect?

An inconsistent defect is a defect that is not easily reproducible i.e. does not occur frequently.
The following should be considered to deal with this kind of defect:
⦁ Attaching application error logs (possibly turning on debugging as well)
⦁ Attaching screenshots
⦁ Clear instructions on reproducing the defect and possibly with exact test data in the correct order
